Aging.... the wine that Is
Aging a wine, allows the flavors and aromas to blend toether and become delicious. During this aging period, wine is aged in oak barrels or held in large stainless steel containers until bottling.
Whats the difference? Stainless steel containers preserve the natural flavor. Oak barrels releases new flavors in the wine, some Winemakers choose oak barrels with different charring to "spice" or flavor the wine. Wood from different places and char levels leads to different flavors- e.g., vanila, coconut, toast.
When the aging is through, the wine is filtered from all the grape parts that are still hanging around. When the Winemaker is satisfied with the ampleness of the wine, the wine is bottled, distributed and sold.
